多模态话语分析视角下英语《西游记》动画片字幕翻译
A Multimodal Discourse Analysis Perspective on Subtitle Translation in the English Animated Adaptation of Journey to the West
摘要: 在数字技术驱动文化传播转型的背景下，多模态翻译为中国经典文学的国际传播提供了创新路径。本研究以儿童动画《西游记》为研究对象，运用张德禄学者的多模态话语分析理论框架，从文化、语境、内容、表达四个层面探讨模态协同与跨文化意义构建的互动机制。旨在结合这四个层面，探究字幕翻译如何借助语言、视觉、听觉等多模态表征，尝试建构易于海外儿童观众理解的符号系统，以期为语言习得与中国文化传播的协同增效提供一种可能的路径。
Abstract: In the context of digital technology-driven transformation in cultural communication, multimodal translation provides an innovative pathway for the international communication of Chinese classic literature. This study, taking the children’s animation Journey to the West as the research object, utilizes the theory of multimodal discourse analysis to explore the interactive mechanism of modal synergy and cross-cultural meaning construction from four levels: culture, context, content and expression. It is found that an attempt is made to construct a symbolic system accessible to overseas child audiences, with the aim of providing a potential pathway to achieve synergistic effects between language acquisition and the dissemination of Chinese culture.
