Abstract: Cognitive dysfunction, as a global public health issue, seriously affects the physical, psychological and social health of patients. With the acceleration of the aging of the world’s population, the proportion of people with cognitive dysfunction is constantly increasing, gradually trending younger, and increasingly becoming a major burden on the healthcare system, society and families. Early identification and intervention of cognitive dysfunction is of great significance. Studies have found that chronic stress plays an important role in the occurrence and development of cognitive dysfunction. As an objective indicator for measuring chronic stress, the association between allostatic Load and cognitive dysfunction has become a research hotspot in recent years. In this paper, we summarize the potential mechanisms by systematically and comprehensively exploring the relationship between allostatic load and its components and cognitive dysfunction. The results of this study provide new ideas for prevention and intervention to reduce the risk of developing cognitive dysfunction.
