跨文化视域下《桃花扇》英译本对比研究

A Comparative Study of the English Translation of “The Peach Blossom Fan” from a Cross-Cultural Perspective

摘要: 《桃花扇》作为中国四大古典名剧之一，在古今中外戏剧长河中，始终占据重要地位。其文本蕴含丰富的历史文化底蕴与独特的艺术审美特质，是跨文化传播中展现中国传统文学魅力的重要载体。本文基于跨文化翻译视角，以英裔意大利翻译家阿克顿、伯克利加州大学教授陈世骧、海外汉学家白之合作完成的英译本和国内著名翻译家许渊冲的英译本为研究对象，分析两个译本在篇名、文化负载词、句群等方面的译文差异，对比研究其翻译策略及效果，以期促进中国传统文化传播和交流，提升中国文学和文化的国际影响力。

Abstract: As one of the four great classical Chinese plays, “The Peach Blossom Fan” has always held an important position in the long river of Chinese and foreign dramas throughout history. Its text is rich in historical and cultural heritage as well as unique artistic aesthetic traits, and it is an important carrier for showcasing the charm of traditional Chinese literature in cross-cultural communication. Based on the perspective of cross-cultural translation, this article takes the English translation completed by the British-Italian translator Acton, Professor Shixiang Chen from the University of California, Berkeley, and the overseas Sinologist Bai Zhi, as well as the English translation by the renowned domestic translator Xu Yuanchong as the research objects. It analyzes the translation differences between the two translations in terms of title, culturally loaded words, sentence groups, etc.and comparatively studies their translation strategies and effects. With the aim of promoting the dissemination and exchange of traditional Chinese culture and enhancing the international influence of Chinese literature and culture.
