Circularity and Duration: A Humanistic Philosophical Study of the Intergenerational View of Time

摘要: 本文基于《周易》的时间哲学，摒弃西方传统哲学中线性时间观与彼岸信仰视角，以“代际时间”为核心，阐释一种基于家庭绵延与伦理实践的时间观。论证其并非某种超验结构，而是“家”作为绵延机体在时间中展开的实践形态。它通过“承前–启后”的回旋机制，将过去、现在、未来三代人共构于一个意义场，使个体通过融入家族血脉与历史传承，获得一种基于伦理生活与历史实在的此岸性延续，深刻体现了中国哲学中的人本主义精神，为现代人安顿生命提供了深层智慧。

Abstract: Based on the temporal philosophy of “The Book of Changes”, this paper moves beyond the linear view of time and the perspective of other-worldly beliefs prevalent in Western traditional philosophy, focusing instead on “intergenerational time” as its core concept. It elucidates a view of time grounded in familial continuity and ethical practice, arguing that this view does not constitute a transcendental structure but rather manifests as a practical form of “family” as an organism of duration unfolding through time. Through a “receiving-preceding” spiral mechanism, it integrates past, present, and future generations into a shared field of meaning, enabling individuals to achieve a form of immanent continuity based on ethical life and historical reality by embedding themselves within the lineage and historical transmission of the family. This profoundly reflects the humanistic spirit in Chinese philosophy and offers profound wisdom for modern individuals seeking to anchor their lives.
