关系管理理论视角下建议行为语用研究综述
A Literature Review of Pragmatic Studies on Advising Speech Acts: From the Perspective of Rapport Management Theory

摘要: 本文旨在系统综述关系管理理论视角下建议行为的语用研究现状,对2015年至2025年间发表的中英文学术成果进行了系统的检索与筛选,文献检索主要依托Web of Science与中国知网数据库进行。研究发现,该理论应用范围统一划分为以下两类:专业与教育和数字与媒体下的话语分析及实验与语料库研究。然而,现有研究也面临显著挑战:在理论层面,关系管理理论存在西方中心主义偏见,对集体主义文化中“人情”等动态关系构念解释不足;在方法论上,研究过度依赖静态文本分析,缺乏多模态与纵向设计;在跨文化维度,研究常简化二元对比,忽视文化内多样性及技术中介的影响。因此,未来研究亟需融合混合研究方法、进行纵向与动态分析、拓展混合文化语境研究,并整合心理学等学科深化理论,以推动关系管理理论在多元语境中的理论完善与实践应用。
Abstract: This paper aims to provide a systematic review of the pragmatic research landscape on advising speech acts from the perspective of Rapport Management Theory (RMT), based on a comprehensive retrieval and screening of academic literature published in both English and Chinese between 2015 and 2025. The literature search was primarily conducted using the Web of Science and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases. The study identified that the applications of this theory are systematically categorized into the following two types: discourse analysis in professional and educational settings and digital and media contexts, as well as experimental and corpus-based studies, demonstrating a broad range of applications. However, existing research also faces significant challenges: on a theoretical level, RMT exhibits a Western-centric bias and provides insufficient explanation for dynamic relational constructs such as “renqing” (interpersonal obligation) within collectivist cultures. Methodologically, studies overly rely on static text analysis, lacking multimodal and longitudinal designs. In terms of cross-cultural dimensions, research often simplifies comparisons into binary oppositions, neglecting intra-cultural diversity and the impact of technology-mediated communication. Therefore, future research urgently needs to integrate mixed-methods approaches, conduct longitudinal and dynamic analyses, expand studies into hybrid cultural contexts, and incorporate insights from disciplines such as psychology to deepen the theory. These steps are essential to advance the theoretical refinement and practical application of RMT in diverse contexts.
