健身气功“八段锦”术语英译研究

A Study on English Translation of Terminology in Health Qigong “Baduanjin”

摘要: 气功是中国传统中医文化的一个重要组成部分，而健身气功“八段锦”因其简单易行、效果明显，深受气功爱好者们的喜爱。为了更好地推动“八段锦”在海外的传播，使其独特的健身理念与方法能够被更多人了解和接受，对其中术语的准确翻译显得尤为重要。而当前“八段锦”英译存在翻译标准不统一、文化意象传递不足、功能对等性缺失等明显缺陷。本文对“八段锦”中五个招式名称中的术语英译进行研究，以期发现其翻译特征和规律，从而总结其英译方法和原则，为“八段锦”在海外的广泛传播提供有力支持。

Abstract: Qigong is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine culture, and Health Qigong “Baduanjin” is deeply loved by Qigong enthusiasts for its simplicity and obvious effects. To facilitate the overseas dissemination of “Baduanjin”, and to enable more people to understand and accept its unique health-preserving philosophy and methodology, the accurate translation of its key terms is of vital importance. However, the current English translation of “Baduanjin” terminology suffers from several prominent defects, such as inconsistent translation standards, insufficient conveyance of cultural imagery, and lack of functional equivalence. By conducting a study on the English translation of core terms in five posture names of “Baduanjin”, the research aims to uncover the characteristics and patterns of the translation of these terms, thereby providing support for the global dissemination of “Baduanjin”.
