从功能对等理论分析英文电影片名的汉译研究

A Study on the Chinese Translation of English Film Titles from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory

摘要: 随着现代化进程的加快，中外文化之间交流频繁，越来越多的中国电影走向世界，外国电影也逐渐涌入中国市场。着重描写翻译理论的文章有很多，但有关英文电影片名汉译的文章却少之又少。由于缺乏系统的理论研究，导致电影片名的翻译良莠不齐。就此，本研究试图从功能对等理论框架出发，寻找良好的翻译标准来指导电影标题的翻译。作者首先简单介绍了研究课题的背景和研究意义，然后对功能对等理论的内容进行了总体论述，包括翻译标准和翻译策略。其次，从功能对等理论在电影片名翻译中应用的必要性和可能性两方面进行探讨。从理论价值和现实意义来看，本研究可以为电影翻译领域积累原始资料，丰富电影的理论研究，有助于提高相关译作的质量，从而促进电影文化传播和发展。

Abstract: With the acceleration of modernization, cultural exchanges between China and the world have become increasingly frequent. More and more Chinese films are reaching global audiences, while foreign films are steadily entering the Chinese market. While numerous articles focus on translation theory, studies specifically addressing the Chinese translation of English film titles remain scarce. The lack of systematic theoretical research has resulted in inconsistent quality in film title translations. This study therefore attempts to establish sound translation standards for film titles by drawing upon the framework of functional equivalence theory. The author first briefly introduces the background and significance of the research topic, followed by an overview of functional equivalence theory, including translation standards and strategies. Subsequently, the study explores both the necessity and feasibility of applying functional equivalence theory to film title translation. From both theoretical value and practical significance, this research contributes original materials to the field of film translation, enriches theoretical studies on cinema, and helps improve the quality of related translations, thereby promoting the dissemination and development of film culture.
