电商平台盈利模式的差异化竞争与财务表现——基于京东与拼多多的对比分析
Differentiation Strategies in E-Commerce Platform Profit Models and Financial Performance—A Comparative Analysis of JD.com and Pinduoduo
摘要: 本文以平台型电商领域的京东与拼多多为分析对象,基于波特竞争战略理论和价值链理论搭建“战略选择–价值活动–盈利模式–财务绩效”整合分析框架并对比二者2020~2024年的财务绩效。研究显示京东以差异化战略为核心,通过自建仓配一体化物流、深度参与采购与售后等重资产投入构建“采购–仓储–配送”全链条价值链,形成“高资产周转、低销售净利率、适度财务杠杆”的财务特征。拼多多依托成本领先战略以轻资产模式聚焦平台搭建与流量匹配将物流、生产等环节外包且核心收入来源于高毛利在线营销服务,呈现“低资产周转、高销售净利率、低财务杠杆”的财务表现。近年来,双方战略出现显著相互渗透趋势:京东通过“百亿补贴”切入下沉市场,同时开放第三方商家入驻与物流服务输出实现“轻量化”运营;拼多多则通过农产品直采基地建设深化供应链把控,叠加Temu海外扩张逐步“加重”资产结构。
Abstract: This study examines JD.com and Pinduoduo in the platform-based e-commerce sector, employing Porter’s competitive strategy theory and the value chain theory to construct an integrated analytical framework of “strategic motivation—value activities—profit model—financial performance”. A comparative analysis of their financial performance from 2020 to 2024 is conducted. The results indicate that JD.com adopts a differentiation strategy, characterized by significant heavy-asset investments such as self-constructed integrated warehousing and distribution logistics, as well as deep involvement in procurement and after-sales services. This approach enables the formation of an end-to-end value chain covering “procurement—warehousing—distribution”, resulting in financial features marked by high asset turnover, low net profit margin, and moderate financial leverage. In contrast, Pinduoduo relies on a cost leadership strategy, operating under a light-asset model that focuses on platform development and traffic allocation. It outsources logistics and production processes while deriving its core revenue from high-margin online marketing services. This leads to a financial profile characterized by low asset turnover, high net profit margin, and low financial leverage. In recent years, there has been a notable trend of mutual strategic integration between the two companies: JD.com has entered the lower-tier market through its “Billions in Subsidies” initiative, while opening up to third-party merchants and offering logistics services to achieve a “lighter” asset model. Meanwhile, Pinduoduo has strengthened its supply chain control by establishing direct agricultural product sourcing bases and is gradually adopting a “heavier” asset structure with the overseas expansion of Temu.
