Translation and Commentary on Chapter One of Principles of Economics

摘要: 本文以格里高利·曼昆所著《经济学原理》第一章为研究对象，选取梁小民与梁硕两位译者的中文译本，结合笔者自译版本，从翻译策略的角度进行对比分析。研究聚焦经济学文本中典型句式的处理、文化意象的转换、术语一致性及逻辑关系的显化等问题，探讨经济类文本翻译中归化与异化策略的选择及其对读者理解的影响。结果表明，经济学文本翻译应在保证准确性的基础上，注重汉语表达习惯与逻辑连贯性，适当采用归化策略有助于提升译文的可读性与接受度。

Abstract: This paper focuses on the Chapter One of N. Gregory Mankiw’s Principles of Economics, conducting a comparative analysis of the Chinese translations by Liang Xiaomin and Liang Shuo alongside author’s self-translated version from the perspective of translation strategies. The study examines the treatment of typical sentence structures, the transformation of cultural images, terminology consistency, and the explicitation of logical relationships, exploring the choice between domestication and foreignization strategies in translating economic texts and their impact on readers’ comprehension. The results indicate that the translation of economic texts should prioritize conformity with Chinese expression conventions and logical coherence on the basis of accuracy, and the appropriate use of domestication strategies can enhance the readability and acceptability of the translation.
