文化翻译观下英式幽默的字幕翻译策略研究——以《神探夏洛克》为例

Analysis of Subtitling Translation Strategies for British Humor from the Perspective of Cultural Translation Theory—A Case Study of SHERLOCK

摘要: 字幕翻译在保留原文文化特色与满足目标语观众接受度之间存在张力，翻译策略的选择直接影响英式幽默的传递效果，需关注跨文化交流中的语境适配与文化再创造。本文以英国广播公司出版的著名英剧《神探夏洛克》第一季(人人字幕组版)为研究对象，结合巴斯奈特的文化翻译观探讨英式幽默在字幕翻译中的翻译策略，旨在提高英剧本地化翻译能力，克服跨文化障碍感受英式幽默的魅力。

Abstract: There exists a tension in subtitling between preserving the cultural characteristics of the original text and satisfying the acceptability of the audience. The choice of translation strategies in subtitling directly affects the effectiveness of English humor transmission. Thus translators should pay attention to contextual adaptation and cultural re-creation in cross-cultural communication. Taking the first season of the famous British drama SHERLOCK, released by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), as the research object, this study explores the translation strategies of British humor in subtitling by focusing on one of its Chinese versions translated by Renren Translation Group, combining Susan Bassnett’s cultural translation theory to analyze the usability of domestication and foreignization. It aims to enhance the localized translation competence of British dramas, help overcome cross-cultural barriers, and enable the audience to appreciate the charm of British humor.
