以主题句与主谓句结构差异视角解读《木兰辞》英译
An Analysis of The Ballad of Mulan: From the Structural Distinction between Topics and Subject
摘要: 主题句与主题链是中文文章建构最基本的句法之一。主题句与主题链的应用，为文章铺陈打通简明扼要之通路、营造浑然天成之质感。相较而言，英文普遍依赖以主谓为核心的语法架构，强调语法成分准确完整、清晰明确。本文从不同类别主题链视角出发，分析由“木兰从军”改编的《木兰辞》三个英译本，在中英主题句与主谓句的转换中，品味不同译本对原诗中传统文化意蕴的传递，并总结不同类型的主题句与主题链的翻译方法。
Abstract: Topics and topic chains are among the most basic constructions in Chinese text, making the Chinese articles more concise, natural and complete, while English is more dependent on the grammatical construction. This essay analyses three English versions of a Chinese poem named The Ballad of Mulan, which was adapted from one of the most representative folk stories in China. From the different categories of topic chains, this paper explores the translation effects of Chinese “taste” in different English versions and summarizes the translation methods of various types of topic chains.
