Abstract: Obesity has become a major global public health challenge in recent years. Obesity is characterised by a persistent chronic inflammatory state and metabolic disorder, which has been confirmed to be an important risk factor for a variety of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. At the same time, obesity is also considered an independent risk factor for a variety of infections, which not only increases the susceptibility of the body to pathogens but also promotes the progression of infection to severe disease. The underlying mechanism involves multiple factors, including immune dysfunction, inflammatory imbalance, metabolic disorders, and alterations in the intestinal flora structure. This study aims to explore the association between obesity and infection, with the goal of better understanding its pathological mechanism and providing a theoretical basis for guiding clinical treatment.
