中医药展览文本英译研究——以“智慧之光”中医药文化展为例

English Translation of TCM Exhibition Texts—A Case Study of “Light of Wisdom”—Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Exhibition

摘要: 中医药展览是了解中医药文化遗产及宝藏的重要方式之一，其文本英译则决定了展览是否能够在宣传、教育的同时实现有效的对外传播。本文以国家博物馆“智慧之光”中医药文化展英译本为例，列出其翻译中存在的一些问题和不足，如译文缺失、译文不准确、多译等情况，并尝试提出翻译策略及原则：弹性增减、以读者为中心；以期为中医药博物馆及展览的语言景观建设提供一定参考，提升其国际化水平，并为后续研究提供借鉴。

Abstract: TCM exhibition is a significant way to know about TCM cultural heritage and treasures, and the quality of their English translation determines whether these exhibitions can affect the effect of broadcasting, educating, as well as the international communication. This paper takes the English translation of the National Museum of “Light of Wisdom”—Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Exhibition as an example, summarizes the faults or problems in the English translation of it, such as insufficient translation, inaccurate translation and excessive translation, and attempts to put forward translation strategies and principles, such as flexible handling the cultural background information and taking readers as the center. Hopefully, the paper can provide a certain reference for the further translation and research of the linguistic landscape of TCM museum or exhibition text and improve the international influence.
