文化杂合视角下的调和与再现——《哪吒之魔童闹海》英文字幕翻译研究
Harmonization and Representation from the Perspective of Cultural Hybridity—A Study on English Subtitle Translation of “Nezha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea”
摘要: 今年初,动画电影《哪吒之魔童闹海》(以下简称《哪吒2》)正式上映,迅速吸引众多影迷,成为一部现象级的动画影视作品。该影片本身融合了中国传统神话与现代思想,其字幕翻译更是在源语与目标语文化之间进行了一次“二次融合”。本文通过分析英文字幕中语言与文化元素的杂合处理方式,探讨译者如何借助多种翻译策略,既保留原文化特色,又兼顾国际观众的接受能力,从而构建出一个介于熟悉与陌生之间的“文化中间地带”,成功实现跨文化的有效传播。
Abstract: At the beginning of this year, the animated film “Nezha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea” (hereafter referred to as “Nezha 2”) was officially released, quickly attracting numerous fans and becoming a phenomenal animated film. The film itself integrates China’s traditional mythology with modern ideologies, while its subtitle translation achieves a “second fusion” between source and target language cultures. This article analyzes the hybrid treatment of linguistic and cultural elements in English subtitles, exploring how translators employ various translation strategies to preserve original cultural characteristics while accommodating international audiences’ reception capabilities, thereby constructing a “cultural middle ground” between familiarity and unfamiliarity, successfully achieving effective cross-cultural communication.
