大翻译视角下《白蛇传》的经典化发展

The Canonization Development of “The Legend of White Snake” from the Perspective of the Big Translation

摘要: 《白蛇传》是中国家喻户晓的一则民间传说，主要讲的是白娘子与许仙千年修得正果，在断桥相遇定终身，经历种种后，金山寺和尚法海借白娘子为妖孽霍乱人间为由，将其镇压至雷峰塔下，而后白娘子与许仙之子许仕林高中救母的故事。《白蛇传》历久弥新，经过千百年的锤炼，最终走向大众，走向世界。本文将从“大翻译”视角，结合文化记忆与雅克布森的三种翻译方法——语内翻译、语际翻译和符际翻译，探寻《白蛇传》经典化的发展以及走向全球性文化的历程。

Abstract: “The Legend of White Snake” is a widely known Chinese folk tale that mainly tells the story of Suzhen Bai and Xian Xu, who, after a thousand years of cultivation, finally meet on the Broken Bridge and pledge their love. After many trials, the monk Fahai from Jinshan Temple, under the pretext that Suzhen Bai is a demon causing chaos in the human world, imprisons her under the Leifeng Pagoda. Later, Suzhen Bai’s son, Shilin Xu, passes the imperial examination and rescues his mother. “The Legend of White Snake” has stood the test of time and, after centuries of refinement, has become a part of popular culture both in China and internationally. This paper explores the canonization process and the journey of “The Legend of White Snake” towards becoming a global culture from the perspective of the “big translation”, combining cultural memory with Jakobson’s three types of translation—intralingual translation, interlingual translation, and intersemiotic translation.
