感叹强调义构式“N之所以是(为) N”的探究

A Study of the Construction “N之所以是(为) N” in Chinese as an Expression of Exclamation and Emphasis

摘要: “之所以”是古汉语就存在的结构，如今发展出许多新的用法。本文研究“之所以”加上判断动词“是/为”，前后名词重复，变成“N之所以是(为) N”结构，前N表示指称，后N表示评述，表示强调N的特点。本文利用构式语法的研究方法，以“N之所以是(为) N”这个新兴构式作为个案，解析出其新的构式意义是表示感叹、赞美及突出强调，可进入本构式的词类都是名词。本构式的适用语境是：当说话人对N有一定的预设或普遍的认知，因为某件事实出现或看到符合“N”的某个特征时来进行感叹和强调。

Abstract: “之所以” is a construction that existed in ancient Chinese and has developed many new usages today. This paper studies the construction formed by combining “之所以(the reason why)” with the judgment verbs “是(shi/be)” or “为(wei/be)”, with the repetition of the noun before and after, resulting in the construction “N之所以是(为) N”. The preceding N functions as a reference, while the following N serves as a comment, emphasizing the characteristics of N. Adopting the research method of Construction Grammar, this paper takes the emerging construction “N之所以是(为) N” as a case study and concludes that its new constructional meaning is to express exclamation, praise, and prominent emphasis. The only part of speech that can enter this construction is nouns. The applicable context of this construction is as follows: when the speaker has certain presuppositions or general cognition about N, they use it to express exclamation and emphasis upon the occurrence of a certain fact or observation of a feature that conforms to “N”.
