汉语古诗英译“译写”策略应用——以《春江花月夜》英译本为例
The Application of “Translation Plus Rewriting” Strategy to the English Translation of Ancient Chinese Poetry—On the English Translation of A Moonlit Night on the Spring River as an Example
摘要: 汉语古诗英译中的译写是指在翻译汉语诗歌时,对诗歌主体部分所做的一种创作。它涉及到对原文成分的删补、替换以及重组等,从而提高古诗的可读性和理解度。张若虚的《春江花月夜》是中国诗歌史上的经典之作。该诗以其深邃的意境和艺术表现,对后世影响深远。鉴于此,本文将以《春江花雨夜》的许渊冲英译本(以下简称许译本)为例,分析汉语和英语在古诗中的差异特点,探讨译者在翻译过程中如何运用“译写”策略,从而帮助更好地理解“译写”策略在古诗英译中的应用和翻译效果,以及其对翻译实践的启示意义。
Abstract: Translation plus rewriting in the English translation of ancient Chinese poems refers to a kind of creation of the main part of the poem when translating Chinese poems. It involves the deletion, replacement and reorganization of the components of the original text so as to improve the readability and comprehension of the ancient poem. Zhang Ruoxu’s A Moonlit Night on the Spring River is a classic in the history of Chinese poetry. With its profound mood and artistic expression, the poem has a profound influence on later generations. In view of this, this paper will take Xu Yuanchong’s English translation of A Moonlit Night On The Spring River (hereinafter referred to as Xu’s translation) as an example to analyze the differences between Chinese and English in ancient poems, and to discuss how the translator applies the strategy of translation plus rewriting in the process of translation, which will help to better understand the role of the strategy of translation plus rewriting in ancient poems in English. This will help to better understand the application and translation effect of the translation plus rewriting strategy in the English translation of ancient poems, as well as its revelation to the translation practice.
