微信状态:Z世代在液态现代社会的自我呈现与社交策略
WeChat Status: Self-Presentation and Social Strategies of Generation Z in the Liquid Modern Society
摘要: 随着新媒体生态的深入发展,作为互联网原住民的Z世代在网络空间中展现出高度符号化、情绪化与即时化的社交表达特征。微信状态作为社交媒体平台中出现的新型轻量化表达功能,自2021年上线以来迅速被年轻用户群体接受,并成为其构建网络身份、传递情绪信息与维系弱关系的重要媒介。本文以鲍曼的液态现代性理论为核心分析框架,结合戈夫曼拟剧论中的自我呈现视角,采用半结构化访谈法,对13名Z世代青年进行访谈,探讨其在微信状态中的表达动因、社交策略与身份认同问题。研究发现:微信状态的使用动因包括身份试探、情绪宣泄与社会存在感维护;微信状态构建了一种介于公开与私密之间的“低承诺社交空间”,重塑了Z世代的互动模式;在使用过程中,Z世代面临身份碎片化与情绪管理压力,并通过符号化自我展示与策略性社交回应进行适应。研究揭示微信状态不仅是社交表达工具,也是数字时代青年社会心理结构的镜像反映。
Abstract: With the continuous evolution of the new media ecology, Generation Z, as digital natives, exhibit highly symbolized, emotional, and instantaneous characteristics in their social expressions within online spaces. As a lightweight expression function newly introduced by social media platforms, WeChat Status has been widely adopted by young users since its launch in 2021. It has become an important medium for constructing online identities, conveying emotions, and maintaining weak social ties. This study adopts Bauman’s theory of liquid modernity as the core analytical framework and integrates Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective on self-presentation. Through semi-structured interviews with 13 Generation Z participants, it explores their expressive motivations, social strategies, and identity issues in the use of WeChat Status. The findings indicate that the motivations include identity exploration, emotional catharsis, and the maintenance of social presence. WeChat Status constructs a “low-commitment social space” situated between publicity and privacy, reshaping interaction patterns among Generation Z. Meanwhile, users face fragmented identities and emotional management pressures, adapting through symbolic self-presentation and strategic social responses. The study concludes that WeChat Status is not merely a tool for social expression but also a mirror reflecting the socio-psychological structure of youth in the digital era.
