声音的“在地性”与译者翻译的“极限挑战”——跨文化传播视角下温州鼓词中的方言英译研究
The “Locality” of Sound and the Translator’s “Ultimate Challenge”—A Study on the English Translation of Dialect in Wenzhou Drum Lyrics from the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Communication
摘要: 本研究聚焦于国家级非物质文化遗产“温州鼓词”,以其方言特性为核心,探讨其在英译与跨文化传播过程中面临的特殊困境和应对策略。论文通过构建小型温州鼓词经典曲目双语语料库,采用案例分析法,深入剖析了鼓词中方言词汇、音韵体系与文化负载词在英译过程中的“不可译性”与“创造性损耗”。研究发现,方言不仅是鼓词的表演媒介,更是其地方美学与文化认同的载体。翻译过程中,音韵美感的流失、方言幽默的消解与文化语境的剥离,构成了其走向世界的根本性屏障。本研究反思了非遗“走出去”过程中“地方性”与“全球性”的深层矛盾,认为对温州鼓词这类深度依赖方言的非遗项目,其跨文化传播策略应从追求“完全对等”转向构建“深度阐释”的补偿模式。
Abstract: This study focuses on Wenzhou Drum Lyrics, a representative form of Chinese national intangible cultural heritage, and centers on its dialect features to explore the unique challenges and corresponding strategies in its English translation and cross-cultural communication. By constructing a small-scale bilingual corpus of classic Wenzhou Drum Lyrics repertoire and employing case analysis, this research delves into the “untranslatability” and “creative loss” of dialect vocabulary, phonological systems, and culture-loaded terms during the translation process. The findings reveal that the dialect serves not only as a performance medium but also as a carrier of local aesthetics and cultural identity. The erosion of phonological aesthetics, the dilution of dialect-specific humor, and the detachment from cultural contexts constitute fundamental barriers to its global dissemination. This study reflects on the inherent tension between “localness” and “globalness” in the international promotion of intangible cultural heritage. It argues that for heritage forms like Wenzhou Drum Lyrics, which are deeply rooted in dialect, cross-cultural communication strategies should shift from pursuing “complete equivalence” to constructing a compensatory model of “in-depth interpretation”.
