目的论视角下国产游戏《古剑奇谭三》剧情字幕的英译研究
A Study on the English Translation of Plot Subtitles in the Chinese Game GuJian3 from the Perspective of Skopos Theory
摘要: 在以传统文化为核心题材的国产游戏走向海外市场的过程中,高质量的游戏本地化翻译有利于海外玩家加深对中国文化的认知,从而推动中华文化“走出去”。本文以翻译目的论三原则为纲,依托直译、意译、增译、句式结构转换等翻译方法,分析了国产传统文化类游戏《古剑奇谭三》的英译剧情字幕在实现交际目的、连贯性和忠实性方面存在的不足,并提供修改意见,以期为国产传统文化类游戏字幕英译提供参考,助力其开拓海外市场,讲好“中国故事”。
Abstract: When Chinese games rooted in traditional culture enter overseas markets, high-quality localization enables foreign players to better understand Chinese culture, thereby facilitating its global dissemination. Guided by the three principles of Skopos Theory and using such methods as literal translation, free translation, amplification and syntactic shift, this study examines the English subtitles of the Chinese traditional-culture game GuJian3. It points out the weaknesses of the game in English mode and offers revised versions. The aim is to offer insights for the English subtitle translation of similar games, helping them succeed in overseas markets and effectively convey China’s cultural narratives.
