摘要: 作为从源域到目标域系统性映射的隐喻,在《孟子》中表现为丰富的身体隐喻性。孟子通过“耳目之官”与“心之官”的等级隐喻,将感官认知区分为被动感性(小体)与主动理性(大体),强调以“心”统摄耳目,确立道德判断的认知基础;借助“四端之心”的身体符号化呈现,将抽象道德情感具象为可观测的生理表征,凸显“身心一如”的情感运作机制;以“养气”说为核心,将“浩然之气”隐喻为道德意志的具身能量,通过身体磨难与行动淬炼,实现意志的坚韧化与伦理化。三者动态整合于“践形”体系,形成“即身成德”的伦理实践闭环,既重塑儒家道德主体性的生成路径,亦突破笛卡尔式身心二元论,构建“身体即伦理拓扑空间”的哲学范式。孟子的身体隐喻不仅为消解主客对立提供古典资源,其“万物皆备于我”的具身宇宙论更暗含生态哲学潜能,彰显儒家伦理的动态性与开放性。
Abstract: Metaphor, as a systematic mapping from the source domain to the target domain, manifests richly in Mencius through bodily metaphors. By establishing a hierarchical metaphor between the faculties of the ear and eye (passive sensibility) and the faculty of the heart (active rationality), Mencius distinguishes sensory cognition, emphasizing the governance of the senses by the heart to establish the cognitive foundation for moral judgment. Through the symbolic presentation of the Four Beginnings (siduan) as bodily correlates, he concretizes abstract moral sentiments into observable physiological manifestations, highlighting the body-heart unity in emotional operations. Centered on the doctrine of nourishing qi (yangqi), he metaphorically conceptualizes flood-like qi (haoran zhi qi) as the embodied energy of moral will, which is tempered and ethically refined through physical hardship and practical action. These three dimensions are dynamically integrated within the system of embodied manifestation, forming a closed loop of ethical practice wherein virtue is realized through the body. This framework not only reshapes the generative pathway of Confucian moral subjectivity but also transcends Cartesian mind-body dualism, constructing a philosophical paradigm of thebody as an ethical topological space. Mencius’s bodily metaphors not only offer classical resources for dissolving the subject-object dichotomy, but his embodied cosmology of “all things are complete in me” also harbors potential for ecological philosophy, underscoring the dynamic and open nature of Confucian ethics.
