国内外英语教材跨文化内容对比研究——以《新标准英语》与《IGCSE英语》为例
A Comparative Study on Intercultural Content in Domestic and Foreign English Textbooks —Taking New Standard English and IGCSE English as Examples
摘要: 随着全球化进程加速,跨文化能力培养成为外语教育的重要目标。教材作为文化传递的关键媒介,其跨文化内容设计直接影响教学效果。本文基于跨文化能力理论与教材评价理论,采用文本分析与对比分析法,对外研版高中《新标准英语》(2019)必修一至三册与剑桥《IGCSE英语(第二语言)》(2018)教材中的跨文化内容进行比较研究。研究发现,两套教材在文化知识、态度、技能与批判性意识四个维度上各有侧重:《新标准英语》更重视本国文化融入与文化认同;《IGCSE英语》则更强调多元文化呈现、理解欣赏与互动能力,并注重引导批判性文化反思。基于比较结果,本文从教材结构、内容选择与文本来源等方面评析其优势与不足,并为我国英语教材编写与教学实践提出相应建议。
Abstract: With the acceleration of globalization, cultivating intercultural competence has become a key goal in foreign language education. As a key medium for cultural transmission, the design of intercultural content in textbooks directly affects teaching effectiveness. Based on intercultural competence theory and textbook evaluation theory, this study employs text analysis and comparative analysis to examine the intercultural content in two textbook series: the FLTRP New Standard English (2019) for senior high school (Compulsory Books 1~3) and the Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language (2018). The findings reveal distinct emphases across four dimensions: cultural knowledge, attitudes, skills, and critical awareness. The New Standard English series places more emphasis on integrating Chinese culture and strengthening cultural identity, while the IGCSE English series focuses more on presenting multicultural perspectives, fostering understanding and appreciation, enhancing interactive skills, and encouraging critical reflection. Based on the comparative results, this research evaluates the strengths and shortcomings of the two series in terms of textbook structure, content selection, and text sources, and offers corresponding suggestions for the development of senior high school English textbooks and teaching practices in China.
