The Driving Force of New-Quality Productivity for the Realization of Common Prosperity: Impact Effects and Mechanism of Action

摘要: 实现共同富裕是中国特色社会主义的本质要求，探究新质生产力如何影响共同富裕有利于推动全体人民共同富裕取得更为实质性的进展。本文基于新质生产力的三要素和共同富裕的内涵构建了全面、具体的指标体系，以我国2013~2022年省级面板数据检验了新质生产力对共同富裕的作用机制。结果表明：新质生产力的发展能够显著提高共同富裕水平，在经过稳健性检验和内生性处理后该结论依然成立；新质生产力不仅能够直接促进共同富裕，还通过推动城乡融合和区域协调发展对共同富裕产生积极影响；新质生产力对共同富裕的赋能作用在东部和中部地区、高政策支持和高对外开放水平地区更为显著。

Abstract: Realizing common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Exploring how new-quality productivity affects common prosperity is conducive to facilitating more substantive progress in achieving common prosperity for all people. Based on the three elements of new-quality productivity and the connotation of common prosperity, this paper has constructed a comprehensive and specific index system and examined the mechanism of new-quality productivity’s impact on common prosperity using provincial panel data from 2013 to 2022 in China. The results indicate that the development of new-quality productivity can significantly enhance the level of common prosperity, and this conclusion still holds after robustness tests and endogenous treatment. New-quality productivity not only directly promotes common prosperity but also exerts a positive influence on it by promoting urban-rural integration and regional coordinated development. The enabling effect of new-quality productivity on common prosperity is more pronounced in the eastern and central regions, regions with high policy support, and regions with a high level of openness to the outside world. This study enriches the related theories of new-quality productivity and common prosperity and holds significant practical significance for solidly advancing common prosperity.
