概念隐喻理论视角下《金匮要略》药膳英译对比研究——以罗希文与李照国译本为例

A Comparative Study of C-E Translation of Medicated Diets in Jin Gui Yao Lue Based on Conceptual Metaphor Theory—Taking English Versions by Luo Xiwen and Li Zhaoguo as an Example

摘要: 本文以概念隐喻理论(CMT)为框架，对比分析罗希文与李照国《金匮要略》英译本中药膳名称的隐喻翻译策略。研究发现，罗译本倾向于采用“认知适应”策略，通过拉丁学名与结构隐喻实现术语规范化与跨文化适应，但弱化了中医文化意象与整体观；李译本则遵循“文化保真”策略，以拼音直译为主，保留语言特色与文化身份，却导致功能信息缺失与认知门槛升高。两者在隐喻类型处理、文化传递与读者接受等方面存在显著差异。研究提出应融合双方优势，采用“显化隐喻 + 功能注释”的复合策略，以实现中医翻译在学术准确性与文化传播性之间的平衡，推动中医药跨文化传播的有效性与认同度。

Abstract: Based on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT), this study makes a comparative analysis of the metaphorical translation strategies for medicated diet names in two English versions of Jin Gui Yao Lue, translated by Luo Xiwen and Li Zhaoguo. As a result, Luo’s version adopts a “cognitive adaptation” strategy, employing Latin nomenclature and structural metaphors to standardize terminology and enhance cross-cultural accessibility, yet at the expense of traditional Chinese medical cultural imagery and holistic philosophy. In contrast, Li’s version follows a “culture-specific” strategy, primarily using phonetic transliteration to preserve linguistic and cultural authenticity, which however misses functional information and increased cognitive load for readers. In a nutshell, the two versions differ significantly in their handling of metaphor types, cultural conveyance, and reader reception. Proposing a hybrid approach that integrates the strengths of both strategies, this study is designed to balance academic precision and cultural fidelity in traditional Chinese medicine translation, thereby facilitating more effective and culturally resonant cross-cultural communication of Chinese medicine.
