摘要: 《黑暗的心》是英国作家约瑟夫·康拉德的代表作，被认为是英国文学史上第一部真正意义上的现代主义小说。文章从生态批评视角出发，聚焦小说中“森林”与“象牙”两大核心意象，探究康拉德对人与自然关系的历史性叩问。研究表明，小说不仅借助阴森、沉滞的原始景观与森林的“凝视”主体性，动摇了传统人类至上论的认知权威，呈现出鲜明的去人类中心审美取向；更通过象牙这一被商品化的生命遗存，深刻反思了近代工业理性对自然生命的物化与践踏。通过对两大意象的辩证书写，作品揭示了自然法则对盲目物质扩张的必然反噬，展现出超越时代的原初生态警诫与整体反思价值。

Abstract: Heart of Darkness is a masterpiece by British novelist Joseph Conrad, widely regarded as the first truly modernist novel in British literary history. Grounded in an ecocritical perspective, this paper focuses on two pivotal images—the forest and ivory—to explore Conrad’s profound historical inquiry into the relationship between humanity and nature. The study reveals that by depicting the somber, oppressive primeval landscape and endowing the forest with a gazing subjectivity, the novel destabilizes the epistemic authority of traditional human supremacy, manifesting a distinct de-anthropocentric aesthetic tendency. Furthermore, through ivory as a commodified bodily remnant of life, the narrative incisively critiques the reification and violation of the living natural world driven by modern industrial rationality. Through the dialectical representation of these two images, Heart of Darkness unveils the inevitable ecological backlash of natural laws against reckless material expansion, demonstrating a transhistorical primordial ecological warning and holistic reflective value.
