摘要: 杰克•伦敦的创作与十九世纪末二十世纪初的美国文化密切相关，这一时期拳击运动的中心逐渐从英国转向美国，成为美国人生活中不可或缺的一部分。与此同时，工业化和城市化得到迅速发展，但各种社会问题也日益凸显，社会矛盾突出。杰克•伦敦是一名拳击爱好者，也是这个时代的见证者。本文以杰克•伦敦作品中的拳击手形象为研究对象，分析了进步主义时期女性化生活带来的焦虑，工业化生活带来的伤害，社会腐败带来的影响，讨论了拳击手这一形象的文化内涵和时代意义。
Abstract: Jack London’s works are closely related to American culture between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century. During this period, the center of boxing gradually transferred from Britain to America and became an inseparable part of American people’s life. Meanwhile, with the development of industrialization and urbanization, various social problems and social conflicts emerged. Jack London is an amateur of boxing as well as a witness of the time. This thesis takes boxers in Jack London’s works as study target, analyzing the anxiety brought by feminized society, the harm brought by the industrial life and the influence brought by social corruption, and exploring the cultural significance carried by the image of boxers.
