Painting and Dreams—The Path to Kafka’s “Auf der Galerie”

摘要: 卡夫卡的短篇小说《在剧院顶层楼座》以其简约凝练的风格著称。有迹象表明，它与乔治•修拉的画作《马戏团》有着某种程度的渊源。修拉的这一画作与卡夫卡在日记中记录下的梦境，为读者指引了一条通往《在剧院顶层楼座》的道路。作为《乡村医生：短故事集》中的第三篇作品，《在剧院顶层楼座》凸显了卡夫卡向生活与艺术的边界发起冲击的努力。

Abstract: Franz Kafka’s short masterpiece “Auf der Galerie” is famous for its succinct and meticulous style. There are references to illustrate that it has connection with Georges Seurat’s painting “Le Cir-que”. This painting, along with Kafka’s dreams in his diaries, could be seen a path to Kafka’s “Auf der Galerie” for readers. As the third piece of the collection Ein Landarzt: Kleine Erzählungen, Kafka’s “Auf der Galerie” also highlights his efforts to assault on the frontiers of life and art.
