Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Performance of Streaming Media Companies—Taking Netflix as an Example

摘要: 在COVID-19大流行给全球各行各业的发展都带来冲击的背景下，作为电子信息产业分支的流媒体行业受到了怎样的具体影响，值得讨论与分析。为了探讨这个问题，本文以全球流媒体服务的巨头网飞公司为例，选取其2015~2019年、2020~2021年的数据分别代表其在新冠疫情发生前后的表现，依次对网飞公司的业绩变化、财务变化和权益结构变化展开对比分析，并进行总结，以探究本次新冠疫情对流媒体公司业绩造成的影响。

Abstract: In the context of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the development of all walks of life around the world, it is worth discussing and analyzing how the streaming media industry, a branch of the electronic information industry, has been specifically affected. In order to explore this issue, this article takes Netflix, the giant of global streaming media services, as an example, selects its data from 2015~2019 and 2020~2021 to represent its performance before and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and then evaluates Netflix’s performance in turn. Performance changes, financial changes and equity structure changes are compared and analyzed. Lastly, a summary is made to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of streaming media companies.
