Research on the Influence Mechanism of Scientist Role Conflict on Academic Entrepreneurial Performance
Abstract: Scientists’ entrepreneurship can effectively realize the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. However, the entrepreneurial effect of scientists in China has not reached the expected level, and the conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements has continued to be low. How to improve the entrepreneurial performance of scientists has become a key issue to be solved urgently. This research focuses on the role conflicts that are commonly faced in the entrepreneurial process from the perspective of scientists. By dividing entrepreneurial performance into two levels: technological innovation performance and financial performance and introducing role conflict management strategies as adjustment variables .This study attempts to discuss the mechanism of the impact of scientist role conflicts on entrepreneurial performance. The study found that role conflict has a negative impact on corporate financial performance, and has an inverted U-shaped impact on corporate technology innovation performance; The scientist-inclined separation strategy and balanced strategy to weaken the negative impact of role conflict on financial performance and enhance the inverted U-type effect of role conflict on technological innovation performance; the entrepreneur-inclined separation strategy weakens the negative impact of role conflict on financial performance and weakens the inverted U-shaped effect of role conflict on technological innovation performance.
