Gaze and Anti-Gaze: An Interpretation of Female Images from the Perspective of Gender—Taking the Heroine Katie as an Example

摘要: 在文学创作活动中，处在性别视域之下的作者，往往带有性别偏见和性别期待，极大地影响了文学作品的审美呈现。美国作家威廉•福克纳的代表作《喧哗与骚动》是美国南北战争背景下的长篇家族悲剧小说，小说女主人公凯蒂就生存在一定的性别困境之下，一方面，她代表了父权制社会下男性对女性审美标准和成长期待；另一方面，随着女性主体意识逐渐觉醒，她开始对社会和男性进行反凝视，追求自我独立，表现出一定的女性力量。

Abstract: In the literary creation activities, the authors under the gender perspective often have gender bias and gender expectation, which greatly affects the aesthetic presentation of literary works. The Sound and the Fury, the representative work of American writer William Faulkner, is a long family tragedy novel in the background of the American Civil War. The heroine Katie is living in a certain gender dilemma. On the one hand, she represents men’s aesthetic standards and expectations for women’s growth in the patriarchal society. On the other hand, with the gradual awakening of the female subject consciousness, she began to gaze at society and men, pursue self-independence, and show a certain female power.
