基于语料库的英语专业教材词汇知识发展评估
A Corpus-Based Evaluation of the Development of Vocabulary Knowledge in English Teaching Materials

摘要: 基于自建英语专业教材语料库,本文对不同册级教材、教材内部单元之间的词汇量要求和大纲词汇覆盖率进行纵向分析,旨在对教材词汇广度知识发展进行评估。研究结果表明,教材的词汇量要求和大纲词汇可能低于学生使用者群体的词汇知识水平和大纲要求,同年级教材之间和教材内部单元之间词汇广度知识无显著拓展,但从四册教材使用的两个学年来看,词汇广度知识呈现渐进性发展趋势。在此基础上,本文探讨了教材词汇知识发展对学习者词汇知识能力发展和对大纲支撑作用的影响,并讨论了基于语料库的教材词汇评估方法,以期为教材量化评估和教材建设提供有益借鉴。
Abstract: Based on a self-built corpus of English teaching materials, this paper conducts a longitudinal analysis of the development of vocabulary breadth knowledge in the teaching materials by measuring the vocabulary requirement and the coverage of syllabus vocabulary in the different volumes of the textbooks. The results show that the vocabulary requirements may be low and the syllabus vocabulary of the textbooks may be underrepresented given the vocabulary knowledge and syllabus requirements on the student user group, and there is no significant expansion of vocabulary breadth knowledge between the textbooks in the same grade and among the units within each textbook. However, vocabulary breadth knowledge shows a slow trend of gradual development within a space of the two academic years during which the four volumes of textbooks are used. On this basis, this paper discusses the effect of the textbook’s vocabulary knowledge development on the development of learners’ vocabulary knowledge ability and on the textbook’s supporting role concerning syllabus, and discusses the corpus-based approach to textbook vocabulary evaluation methods, in order to provide a useful reference for the quantitative evaluation and construction of textbooks.
