跨文化传播视角下新疆形象宣传片多模态翻译研究
Research on Multimodal Translation of Xinjiang Image Publicity Film from the Per-spective of Cross-Cultural Communication
摘要: 为传播新疆文化、消除西方舆论偏见,中国国际电视台(CGTN)播出了新疆形象宣传片《天山南北——中国新疆生活纪实》。基于多模态话语分析框架,本文从文化、语境、内容、表达四个层面分别对此形象宣传片翻译进行考察,探究融媒体时代下不同模态如何互动构建出复合语篇的深层语义。研究发现:1) 文化层面上,该宣传片翻译利用多媒体的优势帮助观众克服文化差异;2) 语境层面上,翻译准确传达纪录片语篇含义;3) 内容层面上,翻译有效传达原语篇的人际意义;4) 表达层面上,翻译再现了丰富的话语意义。研究有助于展示一个不同于西方舆论视野中的真实新疆,促进中国文化走出去战略,更好地实现跨文化传播,推进中华民族伟大复兴。
Abstract:
To communicate Xinjiang culture and eliminate the prejudice of Western public opinion, the image publicity film Beyond the Mountains: Life in Xinjiang was broadcast on China Global Television Net-work (CGTN). Within the framework of multi-modal discourse analysis, this paper explores the sub-title translation of the publicity film at four levels: culture, context, content, and media to investi-gate how different modes construct the deep semantics. The research findings are as follows: 1) the translation takes advantage of multimedia to help the audience overcome cultural differences; 2) the translation accurately elucidates the connotation of the film; 3) the translation effectively per-forms interpersonal functions of the original text; 4) the translation expresses comprehensive meaning. The study is contributive to presenting a real Xinjiang, promoting Chinese culture's “going global” strategy, and achieving cross-cultural communication and the great rejuvenation of the Chi-nese nation.
