典籍术语英译研究综述

A Review of the Researches of English Trans-lation of Terminology in Chinese Classics

摘要: 在“中华文化走出去”背景下，典籍术语外译有助于推动中国传统文化的对外传播，增强中国的文化软实力和国际影响力。作为典籍中文化元素的结晶，典籍术语传递着关键的知识信息，蕴含了中国古代各领域的文化内涵、古人对于专业知识和生活、生产经验的总结以及对自然、对社会的认识和思考等，其翻译对于正确、有效地传播中国古代文化至关重要。本研究重点关注在典籍术语的英译研究中受关注度较高并且研究成果相对较多的科技术语翻译、官职名称术语翻译和中华思想文化术语翻译三方面，对关于这三类典籍术语的有代表性的英译研究进行梳理和总结，并对现有研究的不足之处进行述评。

Abstract: Under the background of “Chinese culture going global”, the translation of terminology in Chinese Classics is conducive to promoting the external dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and enhancing China’s cultural soft power and international influence. As the carrier of cultural ele-ments in classical books, terminology in Chinese Classics convey key intellectual information, con-taining the cultural connotation of various fields in ancient China, the summary of ancient people’s professional knowledge, ancient people’s life and production experience, and their understanding and thinking of nature and society, etc. Their translation is crucial to the correct and effective dis-semination of ancient Chinese culture. This paper focuses on the English translation of scientific and technological terms, Chinese administrative terms and Chinese ideological and cultural terms in Chinese Classics, which have attracted more attention and achieved more research results in this field, summarizes some representative translation researches on these three types of Chinese clas-sical terms and the shortcomings of existing research.
