摘要: 文章探讨了夏洛特·勃朗特小说《维莱特》中女主人公露西·斯诺的自我构建。通过分析斯诺处理信件的方式，揭示了她内心的冲突，处于父权制约与渴望自主和真实性之间的纠结。面对无处不在的社会监视，斯诺在保持低调的同时透露出温和的反抗——她通过埋藏信件和模糊叙事来维护自己的隐私和自主性。这种复杂的自我建构反映了她在面对阶层与性别的双重障碍时，为掌握自己的命运而进行了抵抗与努力。
Abstract: This paper examines the self-construction of Lucy Snowe, the protagonist in Charlotte Brontë’s Villette. Through an analysis of how Snowe handles correspondence, this paper highlights her internal conflict, caught between patriarchal constraints and a yearning for autonomy and authenticity. Snowe demonstrates a nuanced approach, balancing concealment and rebellion in response to surveillance and societal pressures. She upholds her privacy and autonomy by burying letters and cultivating an air of mystery. This complex self-construction reflects her resistance and effort to take control of her own destiny while facing the dual barriers of class and gender.
