Abstract: Elderly uremia patients are often accompanied by pruritus, which not only significantly reduces the quality of life of patients, but also has a negative impact on their mental health. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the skin pruritus of senile uremia is mainly related to factors such as damp heat, blood deficiency and kidney deficiency. The core of its treatment lies in the treatment of syndrome differentiation, through the comprehensive use of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and other methods to relieve itching symptoms, so as to improve the quality of life of patients. This article will review the latest research progress of TCM treatment of elderly uremia skin pruritus, focusing on the theoretical basis of TCM treatment, clinical application and effect evaluation. The purpose is to provide reference for the clinical treatment of this complex disease, and further promote the application and development of TCM in the management of senile uremia skin pruritus.
