跨文化语境下中国英语新闻的读者定位
Reader Positioning of Chinese English News from the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Context

摘要: 中国英语软新闻是我国中外文化交流的一座重要桥梁。软新闻对读者定位的准确与否关乎新闻传播的效果,而我国对外传播的目的又决定着文化负载词的使用。本文从批评话语、对话理论、评价理论和接受心理等方面说明读者对于新闻接受至关重要。“受众端”是传播学研究的概念,本文引入评价理论分析两个新闻实例,以此证明跨文化语境的新闻传播应当关注读者定位,为此需要寻找共性,增强认同感。由于传播文化是目的,读者定位为途径,本文认为英语新闻的编码既要考虑中国文化的输出,又要考虑目标读者的接受。
Abstract: Chinese English soft news is an important bridge linking Chinese and foreign cultures. The accurate reader positioning of soft news affects news communication, and the purpose of news communicative goal determines the use of culture-loaded words. This paper shows that readers are very important to news reception from the aspects of critical discourse, dialogue theory, evaluation theory and reception psychology. “Reception side” is the concept of communication studies. This paper introduces evaluation theory to analyze two news examples, so as to prove that news communication in cross-cultural context should pay attention to the positioning of readers, so it is necessary to find commonness and enhance the sense of identity. Since cultural communication is the goal and reader orientation is the way, this paper holds that the coding of English news should consider both the output of Chinese culture and the acceptance of target readers.
