A Comparative Study of Two English Versions of Call Me by Your Name from the Perspective of Metafunction

摘要: 本文以系统功能语言学为指导理论，以系统功能语言学中的三大元功能为分析途径，尝试从概念功能，人际功能，语篇功能三个角度分析原文以及两个译本，研究结果表明：系统功能语言学指导下翻译质量评估模式具有可行性，实践性；翻译过程受译者因素和语言体系和社会文化语境影响，译文不能完全传达原文的功能意义。

Abstract: This paper adopts Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) as its theoretical framework and utilizes the three metafunctions of SFL—ideational, interpersonal, and textual—as analytical tools to examine the source text and its two translated versions. Through this multi-faceted analysis, the study demonstrates that the translation quality assessment model informed by SFL is both feasible and practical. Moreover, the findings reveal that the translation process is significantly influenced by factors related to the translator, language systems, and sociocultural contexts, which may result in the translated texts not fully conveying the functional meanings embedded in the original text.
