认知文体学视角下的东北方言文学翻译——以葛浩文译《呼兰河传》为例

Literary Translation of Northeastern Dialects from the Perspective of Cognitive Stylistics—Howard Goldblatt’s Translation of Tales of Hulan River as an Example

摘要: 本文运用译者行为批评理论的识解理论，分析葛浩文《呼兰河传》英译中的词汇误译现象。葛浩文在翻译过程中受到其文化背景、语言理解及目标读者定位的影响，导致译文在词汇选择和文化传达上出现偏差，未能充分展现原作的东北地域文化特色。通过认知文体学的研究方法，本文详细探讨了译本中叠词、拟声词等方言词汇的误译实例，揭示了译者在面对文化差异时的认知挑战。研究结果表明，译者在处理方言文学翻译时需更加注重语言的文化内涵和读者的接受度，以提高译文的准确性和文化传达效果。本文的研究不仅丰富了方言文学翻译的理论探讨，也为未来译者在跨文化翻译实践中提供了有益的参考和启示。

Abstract: This paper applies the literacy theory of the translator’s behavior studies to analyse the phenomenon of lexical mistranslation in the English translation of Howard Goldblatt’s Tales of Hulan River. Howard is affected by his cultural background, linguistic understanding and target readers’ orientation in the translation process, which leads to deviations in vocabulary selection and cultural conveyance, and fails to fully display the original work’s northeastern regional cultural characteristics. Through the research method of cognitive stylistics, this paper explores in detail the examples of mistranslation of dialectal vocabulary such as superlatives and onomatopoeia in the translated text, revealing the cognitive challenges of the translator in the face of cultural differences. The results of the study show that translators need to pay more attention to the cultural connotation of the language and the readers’ acceptance when dealing with literary translations in dialects, in order to improve the accuracy and cultural conveyance of the translations. The study in this paper not only enriches the theoretical discussion of dialectal literature translation, but also provides useful references and insights for future translators in cross-cultural translation practice.
