海口方言的/x h Ø/均可构成最小的语音对比，必须分立为不同的音位。/x h Ø/的语音差异不仅在听感上是可辨的，在语图上也有显著的区分。
The initials /x h Ø/ in Haikou Dialect are three distinctive phonemes. They can constitute the minimal pairs between each other. The phonetic differences of /x h Ø/ can be distinguished through the sense of hearing; they also have significant distinctions in the sonograms.
